Kylie Long, relationship psychotherapist and sex therapist in Armidale and Northern NSW

A space for conversations that want to happen…

I'm Kylie Long, a registered psychotherapist and certified somatic sexologist with 18 years of experience in relational and conflict work. I specialise in women's sexuality and wellness and work with women and couples of all kinds. I bring warmth and depth to supporting people through the inevitable challenges of intimate life.

My practice is grounded in trauma-informed psychotherapy and somatic (body-oriented) work, integrating research-backed approaches like Gottman Method couples therapy with embodied practices supported by neuroscience. When trauma or difficult experiences become 'frozen' in our bodies, they can block our access to pleasure, deep connection and aliveness.

Together we'll explore what might be blocking intimacy for you and or your partnership and discover what you need to get unstuck. Our intimate relationships are at the heart of our wellbeing so let's work together to strengthen yours!

Sex therapy can feel like a big step…

Sexuality remains one of our most shame laden topics and reaching out for help takes courage. Many people feel nervous, embarrassed, or even unsure about seeking support. If this is you, you're not alone!

And sex and intimacy can be one of the most fun and enjoyable aspects of our lives. Educating ourselves about what’s possible can be so liberating!

My practice is client-centred, which means you choose what we explore and how quickly we progress in our work.

And I help you to embody concrete skills such as: ways to access pleasure and your erotic imagination, communication techniques, awareness of unhelpful patterns, and tools for deeper sensuality and intimacy.

My practice is LGBTQIA+ inclusive, culturally informed, neurodivergent aware, and welcoming to all relationships.

“Kylie got us excited about ‘us’ again. And we did ‘it’ after many years!! I learnt how I love my husband but also push him away out of habit, and how that feels for him. We’re still learning to be more patient with each other, but we’re getting closer…baby steps.”

— EVELYN (AND DAVID)

Additional support

I love offering informal learning environments for women and I’m particularly excited about my upcoming winter salon - Women Talking Sex. And while I primarily work with women and couples, I know men are also seeking individual support. I'm happy to refer men to my partner Andrew Lindsay, a registered psychologist who also specialises in men’s sexual health and wellbeing and couples therapy.
